Easier said than done

From today’s Scripture: “Forgive us our trespasses, as we forgive those who trespass against us.”—Mt 6:12
We pray it all the time, but it’s easier said than done: “as we forgive those who trespass against us.” This was advice that Jesus gave to his disciples when they asked him how to pray.
What does it mean to pray for the generosity of heart to forgive those who have wronged us? Surely we can’t do it alone! But all things are possible with God, we believe. Some things just happen to be harder to ask for—and really mean it.
Let us pray: Dear Lord, teach me, again and again, your way of forgiveness. Help me to see how your forgiveness has worked in my life. Help me to see how my forgiveness to others can spread your love on earth.
