The last laugh
From today’s Scripture: “Abraham prostrated himself and laughed…”—Gn 17:17
The saying goes, We humans plan—and God laughs! I’m sure all of us have seen our best-laid plans go awry. But here’s Abraham chuckling at God’s message—and he seems justified. A baby shower for Sarah wasn’t on anybody’s radar. As always, God has the last laugh (and blessing!).
Let us pray: Lord, grant me a heart that is open to the surprises you bestow on my life. May I have a childlike wonder and amazement at every new horizon you send.
