Daily Reflection

12th Monday in Ordinary Time

Judge not.

From today’s Scripture: “Jesus said ‘Stop judging that you may not judged.’”— Matthew 7:1

Are we judgers? Often we may fall into the trap of judging others without knowing the whole story. An elderly woman arrived late to church with her three grandchildren. The pastor stopped the service and started to reprimand her: “You should not be coming late to the house of the Lord!” She looked at him with weary eyes. “Father, you do not know how hard it is to get these kids ready for church, and once you get them in the car one will announce, ‘I need to go to the bathroom.’ I am glad we even got here.”

We have no business making judgments about others.

Let us pray: Loving Lord, you showed us the way. Help us to have the courage to follow.
