Gospel challenges
From today’s Scripture: “Enter through the narrow gate.”—Mt 7:13
Easier and better are not synonyms. The same applies to legal and moral. The challenges the Gospel poses are more concerned with following Jesus than simply sinking to the least common denominator of society.
Let us pray: Lord, give me the courage of saints like Thomas More who did not abandon Gospel principles in the face of hardship; let me not fall to the temptation of moral compromise.
