Good fruit
From today’s Scripture: “So by their fruits you will know them.”—Mt 7:20
It sure helps to recognize the ravenous wolves in our midst! Certainly, they are the bad fruit that Jesus speaks of. But, there is another side to Jesus’ message about recognizing the “good fruit.” While we observe the fruits of others, it’s by our fruits that people will know us. Is there any pruning needed on your “virtue tree”?
Let us pray: Lord, help me be conscious that bearing good fruit is part of my Christian responsibility. Mere talk doesn’t achieve it. (“No one ever plowed a field by turning it over in his mind.”—Irish Proverb)
