Embrace the new

From today’s Scripture: “‘No one patches an old cloak with a piece of unshrunken cloth, for its fullness pulls away from the cloak and the tear gets worse.’”—Mt 9:16

It can be hard to embrace change. When we are so accustomed to one thing, it can be hard to adapt to something new. In an anxious state, we try to figure out a way to combine the old and the new to maintain some semblance of what we’re used to only for it to complicate things further. Embracing change is scary and uncomfortable. But but often it is good for us as we relieve ourselves of things that hold us back and let ourselves grow into something new.

Let us pray: Lord, let me remember that you are with me through everything. Let me find peace in your presence and I grow and change. Help me to accept that letting go is healthy.
