Daily Reflection

14th Monday in Ordinary Time

Be holy.

From today’s Scripture: “The LORD is gracious and merciful, slow to anger and great in mercy.” —Ps 145:8-9

I love this characteristic of God. A person who imitates this is, without a doubt, easy to love. But make no mistake: Scripture says that God can get angry, albeit slowly. So this is not a call to sin, thinking that God will forgive us later anyway.

I prefer to think that God is compassionate, merciful, and generous, and that for this reason and more he deserves that we reciprocate his love by doing his holy will to the best of our ability.

Let us pray: Eternal Father, thank you for being so understanding when I make mistakes. Help me correspond to your love by doing my best to live according to your will.
