Daily Reflection

14th Thursday in Ordinary Time

Share freely.

From today’s Scripture: “Without cost you have received; without cost you are to give.”—Mt 10:8

This passage reminds me of the other one that says that we cannot “make a single hair black or white” (Mt 5:36). God is the one who has that power and uses it to give us all kinds of blessings for free. Therefore, he calls us to share our talents with others freely.

We live in a reality where it seems that everything has a price. At some gas stations, you even pay for air for your tires! God, on the other hand, reminds us of the mystery of grace: we have freely received and we are called to also freely give.

Let us pray: Father God, who has given us so much for free, beginning with life itself. Help me to give myself freely according to your holy will.
