16th Wednesday in Ordinary Time

God calling

From today’s Scripture: “To whomever I send you, you shall go…”—Jer 1:7

Each of us is called to be a missionary disciple. Through discernment and the inspiration of the Holy Spirit, we gradually become aware of where and how God is calling us to serve. But are we really open and willing to go there?

For some, this may involve traveling to far distant lands as an actual missioner. For others, it’s seeking to cultivate reconciliation between family and friends who, while they may be in close physical proximity to one another, are figuratively far apart. Let us pray for the grace to identify where God is calling us to serve and the willingness to go wherever he sends us.

Let us pray: Father, give us the courage to readily answer your call as we seek to be true missionary disciples.
