The mystery of God

From today’s Scripture: “Is he not the carpenter’s son?” —Mt 13:55
Jesus is the Messiah. He’s the Son of God. But the people he grew up around, they couldn’t see it. They acknowledged his wisdom and mighty deeds, but still all they could see was Jesus’ humanity. He didn’t work many of those mighty deeds during his visit home to Nazareth because of their lack of faith.
The Church teaches that the incarnation is the mystery of the divine and human natures in the one person of Jesus. We can relate to Jesus’ humanity, and we can wonder at his divinity. Contemplating this mystery can deepen our faith.
Let us pray: Lord, I cannot comprehend all of your mysteries, but help me to better understand your word.
