God’s rescue crew

From today’s Scripture: “For I am with you to deliver and rescue you, says the Lord.” —Jer 15:20
Sometimes 1,000 words don’t begin to tell the worth of a picture. I imagine a picture of a man downcast with a heavy heart; another man tries to console him with a hand on his shoulder as he listens and absorbs the painful story with a concerned look on his face. And somehow in that caring expression, the pain is lessened and the burden lightened. It’s times like that we become God’s Rescue Crew. What caption would you write for that picture?
Let us pray: O God, give me the eyes to recognize the needs before me and the courage to respond.
