Trust God

From today’s Scripture: “But when he noticed the strong wind, he became frightened, and beginning to sink, he cried out, “Lord save me!”—Mt 14:30
“Lord save me!” Peter, “the rock,” finds that the confidence with which he left the boat, has evaporated among the waves. Often, the confidence that I think I have, to deal with a serious family conflict, or an unexpected illness, evaporates. “Lord save me!” is a familiar plea. That is when being connected to other disciples helps me face the unexpected storms. Over time, they build my trust that Jesus is truly present and reaching out for me. Today, who needs my presence to sustain their trust in the Lord?
Let us pray: Lord, help me move beyond shouting “Lord save me!” to more deeply trusting in your presence in all the situations that I encounter today.
