“Physician, cure yourself.”
From today’s Scripture: “Amen, I say to you, no prophet is accepted in his own native place.”—Lk 4:24
How quickly opinions change! First Jesus is spoken of highly, and almost immediately he is criticized and his life is threatened. Those who know us well often hurt us most deeply and refuse to accept our words and advice.
Wisdom is an awesome gift of the Spirit. Do we listen to the Spirit speaking through those around us? Do we ignore the Spirit if the person carrying the message is someone we know well?
Let us pray: Come, Holy Spirit, and open our hearts to the wisdom of those who are near to us and can guide us.
