Daily Reflection

23rd Monday in Ordinary Time

Called by name

From today’s Scripture:  “…that their hearts may be encouraged as they are brought together in love, to have all the richness of assured understanding, for the knowledge of the mystery of God, Christ, in whom are hidden all the treasures of wisdom and knowledge.”—Col 2:2-3

I remember where people are from when  I first meet them, but then I forget the name! Not good for a parish priestin my role I need to know people’s names. Jesus remembers our names and calls each of us. We all hold a special place in His mission.  The Twelve Apostles were called to embrace Jesus’ teachings and then witnessed by their lives to Jesus  teachings.  We celebrate our Baptism  by living our lives as Jesus calls us.  Jesus gives us wisdom to know how to live our lives in service to God and others.

Let us pray: Jesus, help me to hear you call my name. I pray to be a person of love today. Help me to share your compassion with others. Watch over all that struggle at this time.
