Daily Reflection

29th Friday in Ordinary Time

Lord, help me.

From today’s Scripture: “Live in a manner worthy of the call you have received, with all humility and gentleness, with patience, bearing with one another through love….”—Eph 4:1-2

The refrain in the Responsorial Psalm today is, “Lord, this is the people that longs to see your face.” I do long to see God’s face and to be with God in heaven for eternity. But sometimes my gaze can turn in another direction, towards the temptations of this world instead.

Those are probably the times that I am not as gentle, patient, loving and peaceful with those around me. I took my eye off the ball. I need to listen to the word of God and refocus my gaze and reconnect to others through that bond of peace.

Let us pray: Lord, I long to see your face. Today, help me to quickly realize those moments that I have taken my gaze off you and have looked to this world for my answers. Help me to refocus on you and my goal of heaven.
