There to guide us

From today’s Scripture: “For I take delight in the law of God, in my inner self, but I see in my members another principle at war with the law of my mind, taking me captive to the law of sin that dwells in my members. Miserable one that I am!”—Rom 7:22-24
There is a false perception in society that doing the work of the Gospel is boring and sometimes unfulfilling. In his Letter to the Romans, Paul shares that he takes delight in the law of God. He reflects on how his shortcomings stop him from living the law of God more fully.
Sometimes it is our own shortcomings that stop us from living the law of God, but we should have faith that God is always there to guide us.
Let us pray: Heavenly Father, when I feel I fall short of your work, remind me of what delight is there when we live your law.
