29th Saturday in Ordinary Time

Look in the mirror

From today’s Scripture: ‘Sir, leave it for this year also, and I shall cultivate the ground around it and fertilize it; it may bear fruit in the future. If not you can cut it down.’”—Luke 13:8

Jesus reminds the crowd to look at their own sins and not to look at the sins of Galileans. At the end of the Gospel reading, he reminds us to have faith that there is always hope; that what we believe is hopeless will actually bring much fruit.

Let us pray: Dear Creator God, let me find hope when I find no hope in the world. Let me always have patience that the work of your Gospel will lead to much fruit.
