Pray over it.

From today’s Scripture: “Jesus went up to the mountain to pray, and he spent the night in prayer to God.”—Lk 6:12
When I graduated from college, I was anxious to start working in the real world. When I was offered my first position, unlike Jesus I didn’t take time to pray before making my decision. I snatched it with little thought. A few months into my career, it was obvious that this wasn’t the job for me.
Prior to selecting his apostles, Jesus spends the night in prayer. If Jesus felt the need to pray over a decision, how many mistakes could I have avoided if I followed Jesus’ example? In yesterday’s readings we were reminded that the Holy Spirit is there to help. Today we are reminded to take the time to ask for that help through prayer.
Let us pray: Lord, let me start my day with this prayer, and turn to you for guidance throughout the day.
