Practicing kindness

From today’s Scripture: “Do nothing out of selfishness or out of vainglory; rather, humbly regard others as more important than yourselves.”—Phil 2:3

My son started kindergarten this year. One of the biggest lessons he will learn there is kindness. Throughout the week, if the students practice kindness, they will earn a sticker. They cherish these stickers!

I wonder how many stickers I would earn. Not that we should expect rewards for our actions, but I hope that my shirt would be full of those stickers from practicing kindness and love to others. I have many opportunities throughout the day to follow God’s commandments. And luckily, I have many people around me every day as a reminder to show God’s love, mercy and kindness every chance I get.

Let us pray: Lord, help me to live a life of Christianity, simplicity and humbleness. Help me show your love to everyone I encounter today.
