Being a light of Christ today

From today’s Scripture: “I know indeed how to live in humble circumstances; I know also how to live with abundance. In every circumstance and in all things I have learned the secret of being well fed and of going hungry, of living in abundance and of being in need.”—Phil 4:12
When I think of hunger, both physical and spiritual hunger come to mind. Our world is filled with people who long to have their bodies and souls fed, but lack the resources to do so. God reminds us in this Scripture that he provides us everything we need, as long as we remain faithful and trusting servants.
How can I be a light for Christ today and share what I have with those in need? Maybe it’s through Scripture and prayer, or maybe is directing someone in need to an agency that can assist them. It might just be through a listening ear or a warm hug. Or maybe it’s emptying my pantry of my abundance and giving to those more in need than I, in Christ’s name. Whatever it is, I should do it!
Let us pray: God, guide me today to be a giving and humble servant. Help me to be grateful for the good you’ve given to me, and to share my time and resources with those most in need.
