Losses and gains
From today’s Scripture: But whatever gains I had, these I have come to consider a loss because of Christ.—Phil 3:7
A typical question: Where do you see yourself in 5-10-15 years? Everyone has an answer. But is your answer the same as God’s? I, for one, can say that things for me didn’t go exactly as I had expected. But God sure knew better. He knew that I might have to go through many gains and losses, before I realized that God’s plan is way bigger and better than my own.
At times, it took me years later until I had that Aha! moment and realized God was with me that whole time. I’m past that 15-year plan that I had (serious!) and I’ll say that giving up what I thought was best and following God’s journey for me is the biggest blessing I’ve ever received.
Let us pray: Let me praise you today for the many gains we have in my life because I answered YES to your call. Help me to listen for your call, and your will for me in this life. Let me forever praise your name.
