Judgment Day

From today’s Scripture: “Whoever seeks to preserve his life will lose it, but whoever loses it will save it. I tell you, on that night there will be two people in one bed; one will be taken, the other left.” —Lk 17:33-34
If you live in a rural area, it is common to see vultures cleaning the road. They are champions at escaping traffic! But none of them will escape the Day of Judgment. The lucky ones and the others left behind will undergo the unexpectedness of the Lord’s return.
It is tempting to hang on like hoarders to what has blessed our lives. But our earthly party will not last forever. Only God can fill the longings of those left behind. In the face to face with God there will be no tomorrow to worry about.
Let us pray: Inspire my day, Lord, to allow me to give to you just a few minutes. Help me to free my heart from everything that is not good.
