Passport to forgiveness

From today’s Scripture: “And the Apostles said to the Lord, ‘Increase our faith.”’The Lord replied, ‘If you have faith the size of a mustard seed, you would say to this mulberry tree, “Be uprooted and planted in the sea,” and it would obey you.’”—Lk 17:5-6
If I know my pet peeves and which buttons get easily pushed in me, I am in a better position to be hurt and to forgive. Both go together. This puzzled and amazed the apostles. When faith becomes the seasoning of mercy it opens the passport to forgiveness. A tailgater on the road will gladly pass if allowed to do so. To let go of the sin of others helps me to change my outlook. As the Spanish hymn goes: hey look at. His look of faith may save the sinner.
Let us pray: Thanks, Lord, for the grace to be free and let others pass me, and to trust that limitless forgiveness is beyond an equation or a decision. It is a lifestyle.
