33rd Saturday in Ordinary Time

New life in Christ

From today’s Scripture: He is not God of the dead, but of the living, for to him all are alive.”Lk 20:38

What a gift it is to know we belong to a God who is God of the living, not of the dead. Even in the moments when we feel we are without hope and truly feel physically, emotionally, or spiritually dead, we can hold on to the truth found in this verse. God sees each and every one of us as alive, no matter the circumstances we find ourselves in. No matter how dark the world may seem at the moment, we may find new life in Christ.

Let us pray: Dear Jesus, may we be ever convinced that we are alive in Christ and serve a God of the living, and not the dead. Rooted in this assurance, help us to help others find hope when all seems lost.
