A different royalty
From today’s Scripture: “Pilate said to Jesus, ‘Are you the King of the Jews?’”—(John 18:33b)
There is a fascination around royalty! Perhaps it’s their wealth or maybe their fame. Is it that their lives seem so much more exotic and fascinating than our ordinary lives? Or perhaps we have always wanted to live in a castle!
Today, we celebrate a very different kind of royalty: Jesus, our King, is like us in all things but sin. Jesus reminds us that his kingdom and ultimately the kingdom for which we strive is not of this world. We are but pilgrims, journeying to the Kingdom of God.
Let us pray: Lord Jesus, you are my king and savior. Help me this day to listen to your voice so that I too may testify to your truth by my example to others.
