Pray, pray, pray.

From today’s Scripture: “‘I will not reject anyone who comes to me…’” —Jn 6:37
Prayer is at the heart of Christian life, for it is in prayer that we seek union with God. For some it is the deep prayer of contemplation, whether through the rosary, scriptural meditation, or other devotions. For others, prayer might be actions on behalf of our faith, done in a spirit of awareness, of doing the work of our Lord. For all of us, the greatest prayer is the Eucharist. We desire union with God.
Today we pray for those who have gone before us. Ours is the communion of the entire Church, living and dead. We know that God will be merciful to those who have gone before us. We pray that they, and we, will be open to God’s mercy.
Let us pray: Jesus, you are the Lord of mercy. Shower your grace upon us! Help me to open my heart today to whatever way you call me. Help me to be closer to you.
