Now is the time.

From today’s Scripture: “As he blessed them he parted from them and was taken up to heaven. They did him homage and then returned to Jerusalem with great joy.”—Lk 24:51-52
Jesus’ Ascension was not the end of his presence in this world. Jesus had shared the glory of his miracles as well as the challenges of his teachings. It was now time to return to the Father. At Pentecost the Spirit would come upon the disciples. Jesus had faith in his disciples to continue his mission in this world with the assurance to live with him in heaven.
How do we continue Jesus’ mission today in our world, in our communities? We have been blessed. We proclaim more by our actions than by our words. Let us build the Kingdom of God.
Let us pray: Loving Lord, even in times of my weakness let me remember the faith that you have in me. Help me to walk on.
