What you have seen and heard

From today’s Scripture: “(…) For you will be his witness before all to what you have seen and heard. Now, why delay?”—Acts 22 15-16
Ananias speaks these words to Paul, formerly Saul, following Paul’s miraculous healing from temporary blindness after encountering Jesus on the road to Damascus. Paul had been a strong persecutor of Christians prior to his encounter with Jesus. Perhaps it took actual physical blindness for Paul to realize how he had been blind to the truth of the Gospel for so long.
The experience completely changed his life. Then Ananias commissions Paul, in a sense, letting him know that he will share about his experience with others, without delay.
We too are called to share about Jesus with those we encounter. But do we encounter blind spots in our faith lives, as Paul did? Or is something holding us back from sharing the faith with others? Let us pray for the grace to see these areas of our lives in need of conversion and courage.
Let us pray: Lord, give me the eyes today to see the areas of my own life in need of conversion. Like Paul, may I become willing to share the Good News with those I encounter in my daily life.
