Conversion of St. Paul

Conversion of St. Paul

Witness for Christ

From today’s Scripture: “The God of our ancestors designated you to know his will, to see the Righteous One, and to hear the sound of his voice; for you will be his witness before all to what you have seen and heard. Now, why delay?” Acts 22:14-16

Today we celebrate the conversion of St. Paul the Apostle, formerly known as Saul, persecutor of Christians. Ananias spoke these words to Paul immediately following Paul’s regaining of his sight from his encounter with the Lord on the road to Damascus. He specified that God chose Paul to be a witness of Christ to others, and to begin this new ministry right away.

In the same way, God has chosen each of us to be his witnesses to others in our daily lives. We are all called to be missioners like St. Paul!

Let us pray: Lord, may St. Paul’s story of conversion inspire us to be your witnesses to those we encounter in our daily lives.
