Dedication of Lateran Basilica

To serve; not be served

From today’s Scripture: “Do you not know that you are the temple of God, and that the Spirit of God dwells in you?. . . The temple of God, which you are, is holy.”—1 Cor 3:16-17

We need to have a positive, healthy self-image because we know that a negative self-image can be destructive to our mental and physical health. Our self-image should be based on a substantial foundation.

Today, St. Paul gives us a wonderfully strong, real foundation: “for the temple of God, which you are, is holy.” God made us in God’s own image and transformed us into a Child of God in Baptism.

God does amazing work and we are wonderfully made!

Let us pray: Father, thank you for making me in your image and transforming me into your child. Help me today to appreciate your work, accept it, and live it.
