Feast of St. Luke

Daily Reflection

Feast of St. Luke

Help me to trust.

From today’s Scripture: “‘Go on your way; behold, I am sending you like lambs among wolves. Carry no money bag, no sack, no sandals.’”—Luke 10:4

I am amazed by the trust the 72 disciples had in Jesus. They went out with no money, sack, or  sandals and trusted the Lord would provide! That’s something I would have a hard time doing personally—especially during these times of pandemic.

I also am always amazed by the trust of those in need whom we serve in Union and Grainger Counties, Tennessee. They trust that the high school, college, or adult volunteers can make a difference in their lives for the better. They do not know our short-term volunteers, but they welcome them with open arms to their homes.

Let us pray: Heavenly Father, in this time of uncertainty let me remember to put my trust in you and your word to guide me through life’s uncertainty.
