Feast of the Transfiguration

Daily Reflection

Feast of the Transfiguration

God is at work.

From today’s Scripture:  And he was transfigured before them; his face shone like the sun and his clothes became white as light.”—Mt 17:2

There are times when you just feel that everything is right. It may not happen often, or maybe only once, but when it does, O, that we could stay there! Is it the marvel of a new baby, nothing but innocent love, right there in your hands? Or maybe it’s at a strikingly beautiful sunset or sunrise. Or maybe something else—these things are different for everyone. God is at work in our lives. And we know it.

The disciples in today’s Gospel knew it, too. They, and we, spend the rest of our lives listening to God’s call more deeply.

Let us pray: Jesus, today let me touch you, really, in the people I meet, in the  beauty of all creation, in your abiding presence in my heart.
