Find suffering’s meaning.

From today’s Scripture: “For it is fitting that…he should make the leader of their salvation perfect through suffering.”—Heb 2:10
I have an unusual habit. Each day I walk “the way of love” (Way of the Cross) and I am made aware of the cost of love. Imagine how Jesus’ sufferings, done with total love, saved the world and all in it. “It is fitting…the leader be made perfect through suffering.”
No one desires to suffer. Jesus prayed he didn’t have to suffer, but when he came to see the outcome of his suffering, he accepted it as a redemptive act of love. His suffering brought about the resurrection for all humankind. Accepted suffering offered for others brings hope to friends and family alike.
Personal suffering should never be wasted. It should be experienced for others, especially the sick.
Let us pray: Father, help me to know today that my sufferings united with your love transforms me into an image of Jesus. He is the one who is focused on the needs of others.
