Rediscovering God

From today’s Scripture: “But we know where he is from. When the Christ comes, no one will know where he is from.”—Jn 7:27
What does it mean to really know a person? Getting to know someone can take a lifetime. But in the process of getting to know a person we can become too familiar, in a sense. We may stop listening to what they really have to say.
Today the readings challenge us to not get complacent in our relationships. Jesus is inviting us to listen to God’s voice; let’s pay attention to what God has to say and let us experience the joy of rediscovering God anew.
Let us pray: All-knowing God, give me the joy of discovering things anew, that I may not become complacent in my relationships. Give me the opportunity to get to know you more and more so that I may be able to see you everywhere and in everyone.
