Lord, let me be merciful

From today’s Scripture: “Go home to your family and announce to them all that the Lord in his pity has done for you.”—Mk 5:19
Jesus had a message for the man now free of demons: Go tell other people about it! Tell everyone about God’s mercy. That statement might be the command of our day. Certainly Pope Francis has repeated again and again the mercy of God. In a world of taking sides, of polarization, we need to recall how merciful God has been to us—and how merciful we should be with each other. Now that’s Good News.
Let us pray: Loving Lord, you have given us many examples of how to live our lives. Make me today an agent of your mercy. Help me to love someone beyond measure.
