Fourth Saturday of Lent

Daily Reflection

Fourth Saturday of Lent

Ever-loving God

From today’s Scripture: “But, you, O LORD of hosts, O just judge, searcher of mind and heart, Let me witness the vengeance you take on them, for to you I have entrusted my cause!”—Jer 11:20

We humans are full of conflicts, externally and internally. Frequently our external problems mirror our internal battle, the strife that exists between the heart and the mind, the frustration that we experience in what we know we should do versus what we end up doing.

We can be harsh judges, too. We sometimes are tough with ourselves and with those around; hardly do we measure up to our own expectations. Thankfully, we have an ever-loving God, who is kind to all and compassionate to no end.

Let us pray: God of perfect peace, please direct my life in such a way that I may live in harmony and can become an instrument of your peace.
