Fourth Sunday in Ordinary Time

Closer to God

From today’s Scripture: Love is patient, love is kind. It is not jealous, it is not pompous, It is not inflated, it is not rude, it does not seek its own interests.”—1 Cor 13:4-5

This is a favorite Scripture passage for so many! No wonder it shows up at weddings: it expresses an aspiration for any Christian. We all want to live by that, to live in harmonious love, and certainly to do our part. Let’s focus today on how we can be closer to love, that is, closer to God. God gives us grace for that. We must only open our hearts.

Let us pray: Open my heart, today, Lord! Help me to take in your grace and to share it freely with everyone I meet today.
