Power in God’s will

From today’s Scripture: “All were amazed and asked one another, ‘What is this? A new teaching with authority. He commands even the unclean spirits and they obey him.’”—Mk 1:27
Sometimes, given the polarized state of the world, I feel powerless. I don’t hold any political influence. I don’t command militaries. I’m not royalty. What can I possibly do to better this world? How can I help people? When I feel powerless, I’m reminded that Jesus didn’t hold any worldly authority either. Instead, his authority came from being a servant of God—from speaking and doing God’s will. Today, let us all be God’s servants and live in his image to be the change we wish to see in this world.
Let us pray: Heavenly Father, help me to be a beacon of light in a dark world. Let me find the strength to carry out your will for the good of others.
