God is light.

Today’s O Antiphon: O Radiant Dawn, splendor of eternal light, sun of justice: come and shine on those who dwell in darkness and in the shadow of death.
St. John the Beloved was one of Jesus’ closest friends, maybe his best friend! It’s amazing to think of the deep closeness he must have shared with our Lord.
Of any word St. John could have used to describe Jesus, in his First Letter he chose to describe Jesus this way: “God is light, in him there is no darkness at all.”
Take a moment sometime today to consider light, in whatever form your mind moves towards. Perhaps our prayer for today is without many words, the quiet act of noticing and experiencing, and being fully present in God’s light.
Let us pray: Lord, show me what part of light you are particularly present in today. I love you, help me to perceive your presence today.
