Guarding our gifts

From today’s Scripture: “But when the tenants saw the son, they said to one another, ‘This is the heir. Come, let us kill him and acquire his inheritance.’” —Mt 21:38
In today’s Gospel, Jesus tells the parable of the tenants. The landlord prepares a vineyard and leases it to tenants. They, though, would not share the fruits of the vineyard with the landlord when he came to collect them at harvest time.
This parable shows us how seriously God feels about his children being good stewards of his kingdom. Whether it’s a relationship, a vocation, a job, even the way we spend our free time — we are called to take what we have already, and use it to produce more good fruit!
Ask God what you can do to be an even better steward of what God has given you. Your response will cause a direct increase of the kingdom of God around you!
Let us pray: Lord, help me to be a good steward of all the great gifts you’ve given me. Help me to see opportunities to nurture relationships, efforts, and ideas to reach their full potential in the kingdom of God.
