Glenmary Home Missioners offers thanks to the 73 donors who gave $5,920 to the home mission cause for #GivingTuesday.
Celebrated on the Tuesday following Thanksgiving and the widely recognized shopping events Black Friday and Cyber Monday, #GivingTuesday kicks off the charitable season, when many focus on their holiday and end-of-year giving.
“#GivingTuesday is a energizing day for charitable giving,” said Rachel Wamsley, Glenmary’s assistant director of development. “It’s great seeing a Glenmary friends—including some new friends—come together in support of the home missions.
“#GivingTuesday is primarily a social media day for us,” she added. “It’s a fun way to interact with our Facebook friends and other social media followers. It’s especially touching reading their comments and knowing how much Glenmary is loved.”
