Earthly families
From today’s Scripture: “Beloved: See what love the Father has bestowed on us that we may be called children of God. And so we are.”—1 Jn 3:1-2
Family is a very complex reality. Each of us carries an ideal of what our family should be like and at least occasionally, is disappointed in the reality that our family is less than the ideal.
On this feast of the Holy Family take comfort in knowing that through our baptism we are adopted into the family of God. This is incredible! We may call God brother through Jesus. Mary truly is Our Mother and the heavenly Father never abandons us. Regardless of the complexities, joys and struggles of our earthly family, let us embrace our heavenly family with confidence that we belong and we are loved!!
Let us pray: Lord, be with my family. Help me be a positive force of love, mercy and kindness among them. Bring healing where needed. Fill our home with peace and love all the days of our life.
