Giving all

From today’s Scripture: “He said, ‘I tell you truly this poor widow put in more than all the rest; for those others have all made offerings from their surplus wealth, but she, from her poverty, has offered her whole livelihood.’”—Lk 21:3-4
Mary’s parents presented their best to the Lord God in the temple. They gave their daughter and dedicated her to the Lord. How much do we give? Is our gift from our surplus or is it all we have to offer? Be still before the Lord and reflect on what God is calling you to offer. What should your gift be? What kind of gift? Should it be financial, a gift of time or talent? Do we hesitate in our offering or do we spontaneously give all.
Let us pray: My God, I come before you with all that I have and all that I am. Here I am. Take all my love, all my treasure, all my being. All is yours. I return it all to you.
