Mary’s moment
From today’s Scripture: “‘Hail, full of grace! The Lord is with you.’…’I am the handmaid of the Lord. May it be done to me according to your word.’”—Lk 1:28,38
I don’t think Mary understood what she was told or what was being asked of her. Yet, she realized that the messenger was from God. In profound faith, she said yes to what was being asked of her. Mary’s yes was that moment in history that God’s plan of salvation began in the world. This was an important moment: Things will never be as they were before. Today, let us thank Mary for saying yes to God’s call and ask her to help us to say our yes to God today.
Let us pray: Dear Lord, may I have the grace to do your will as Mary did, with complete trust in your call and promise.
