Receiving God’s forgiveness
From today’s Scripture: “I the Lord, your God, teach you what is for your good, and lead you on the way you should go.” —Is 48:17
Advent is a season for repentance for a reason. God has taught us how to be good. He gave us the Ten Commandments. He sent us Jesus, his only begotten Son, to show us how to live and love. Jesus gave us the beatitudes and two great commandments. Yet, we struggle to follow his teaching and his example. It is hard to love the way God loves us. So each of us continues to repent, to receive God’s forgiveness, and start again.
Let us pray: O God, thank you for sending your Son Jesus to forgive us of our sins. May we find the strength to allow him to lead us to heaven.
