Await with joy

From today’s Scripture: “The Lord does not delay his promise, as some regard ‘delay,’ but he is patient with you, not wishing that any should perish but all should come to repentance ” —2 Pt 3:9
Many times, when there is a natural disaster, or a great deal of turmoil in the world, some of my friends will ask, do you think the Lord is coming soon? Are not these the signs of his return? My answer is twofold: first, no one knows the time of his return, not even the angels (see Mt 24:34-36). Second, as long as most of the world is lost in sin, Jesus will wait.
One of the justifications for direct evangelization, inviting people to repent and believe in the Lord, is so the world will be saved. Jesus will come again. Then there will be a world of no more pain and no more suffering (see Rev. 21:4). I await with joy and hope for Jesus to come again.
Let us pray: May I repent of my sins. May I help others leave sin behind and follow Christ. May He come soon so the world will be freed of pain, suffering, and tears.
