Children of God
From today’s Scripture: “‘Whoever has ears ought to hear.’”—Mt 11:15
Today’s Gospel is a challenge. Jesus begins by praising John the Baptist as the greatest born of woman, then pivots to say, “the least of the Kingdom of Heaven is greater than he.” Jesus is hinting at a new age dawning with the Kingdom of Heaven that will be ushered in by his death. In this kingdom everyone will be a child of God, but we have to be able to hear when he calls.
Let us pray: Lord, help me silence the noise around me and hear your voice.
