Walking the walk
From today’s Scripture: “‘Therefore, do and observe all things whatsoever they tell you, but do not follow their example. For they preach but they do not practice.’”—Mt. 23:3
When my nephew Jay was learning to drive, I would pick him up on Thursdays and we would go to a nearby neighborhood so he could practice. I was getting on to him one day for not using the blinker when making turns. He looked at me and said, “Aunt Darlene, you never use yours so why do I have to?
How often do I talk the talk but do not walk the walk? As I move through my day, do my words and actions reveal that I am a true follower of Christ? Would Christ tell others to follow my example?
Let us pray: Lord, help me always to reflect you in all that I do, and in all that I say.
