Witness to light.

From today’s Scripture: “There was a man sent from God whose name was John. He came as a witness to testify concerning that light, so that through him all might believe. He himself was not the light; he came only as a witness to the light.” Jn 1:6-8
As baptized Christians, we have been commissioned to share the good news of the gospel. We are called to be witnesses to the light, to Jesus. We are not representing only ourselves; we are Christ’s witnesses. Glenmary’s founder, Father William Howard Bishop wrote, “Adopt all the people of your mission areas as your own. Christ died for every one of them. They are yours because you are his ambassadors.”
As a fellow missioner, how are you serving as a witness and ambassador for Christ today, in your mission area?
Let us pray: Inspired by the witness of John and other early Christians, help me to be transformed into an effective witness for Christ.
