Seventh Saturday in Ordinary Time

Experience of love

From today’s Scripture: “Then he embraced them and blessed them, placing his hands on them.”—Mk 10:16

Probably, like me, you have seen pictures of this scene. It comes from that very familiar passage about Jesus blessing the children. There are people in our lives who may not be children but who need to be embraced, blessed, and touched by the Lord. There are those in our lives for whom we hope for a change in the direction of their life. There are those for whom we hope for a personal experience of the love of the Lord. There are those for whom we pray that they can find peace and wholeness.

Whether they are children, teens, or adults, let’s unite with one another in prayer that the Lord will do what we cannot: embrace, bless, and put his healing hands on them.

Let us pray: Lord, I trust that you will touch, bless, and heal my loved ones. I prayerfully place them in your hands. I trust that you will give them whatever they need. Send into their lives the right people to touch and lead them to you.
